V: What made you decide to pursue this path and start your own company?

JRW: I have been an entrepreneur since age four. Truth: When I was four, my best friend and I started a “snail annihilating business” and went door to door with bags of salt and were paid a quarter for each snail we killed.

V: How do you see The One Page Company evolving in the future?

JRW: The One-Page Company (1-page.com) makes branded communication tools for corporations and individuals to write effective proposals in a one page format. I see us helping to evolve the way people get hired and generating ROI through our 1-Page Job Proposal Platform, the largest online proposal platform in the world for enterprise customers.

V: Who are your inspirations?

JRW:

  • My Junior National rowing coach who taught me how to believe in myself.
  • Anyone who says no.
  • My husband, he taught me to be uncomfortable in a way that allows for continued growth. He taught me how to push comfort levels and challenge the world.
  • My mother, who brought an entire industry into the city of San Francisco.
  • My father, who taught me the value of seeing the world, learning from traveling the world, and doing the uncommon things.

V: What has been the most fulfilling aspect of being a female entrepreneur and change-maker?

JRW: Proving those who told me “no” wrong.

V: What is something people would be surprised to know about you?

JRW: When I was four, I changed my name to Fifi Solar System and I went by that name until I was ten.
