Top Halloween Cocktails (a.k.a. Spooktails)

Halloween is almost upon us, which got us in the mood for some seasonal and appropriately themed cocktails. So, when your blasting “The Monster Mash,” why not get a little smashed with these spooktails!

1. Glow In The Dark Mortal Gin Jell-O Shots 

Ingredients:

  • 3/4 cup of Hendricks gin
  • 1 1/4 cups of tonic water
  • A tiny splash of orange bitters
  • Simple syrup or agave nectar
  • 2 packets of gelatin
  • Ghost Jell-O molds
  • UV Black Light to make them glow!
Directions:

Combine gin, tonic water, orange bitters and simple syrup (to taste) in a jug or bowl then sprinkle gelatin mix into it and set aside for about one minute. In a pan boil the gin mix and mix well until the gelatin completely dissolves. Pour mix into ghost molds and put in the fridge. Once the jello sets, plug in your black light and turn off the lights!

 

2. The Brain Freeze

Ingredients:

  • 2 oz of vodka
  • 1 oz of lemon juice
  • 1 oz of simple syrup
  • Brain ice cubes
  • Spoonful of strawberry jam
Directions:

Mix water and red food coloring in a jug and pour the red liquid into Brain Shaped Ice Cube Molds and put in freezer until frozen. Pour vodka, lemon juice and simple syrup into a tumbler over the brain ice cubes and then finish of with a spoonful of strawberry jam.

 

3. Bloody Orange Orge 

Ingredients:

  • 1 1/2 oz of white rum
  • 3 oz of tangerine juice
  • 3/4 oz of grenadine
Directions:

Mix juice and rum into a martini shaker and fill with ice and shake. First pour in grenadine and then add the rum to get that two-tone effect.

 

4. Sinful Cider Spooktail

Ingredients:

  • Fine black sanding sugar
  • 1 apple, chopped
  • 1/2 lime cut into wedges
  • 2 oz of vodka
  • 1 oz of maple syrup
  • 1 oz of apple cider
  • Ice
  • Club soda
  • 1 thin slice of apple for garnish
Directions:

Moisten the rim of the martini glass with water. Put sanding sugar in a saucer and dip the rim of the glass in the sugar and set aside. In a martini shaker muddle the chopped apple and lime wedges and then add maple syrup, vodka and cider, fill with ice and shake. Pour into the prepared martini glass and top with club soda. Garnish with an apple slice.
