NEW From Million Dollar Deli: June Music Mix

Summer is officially here, and there is a HEAT WAVE sparked by Vixely’s magical music partner Million Dollar Deli’s latest mix for June. This one nails it in so many ways, with a classic MDD combination of throwbacks (like the Cocteau Twins, an early ’90s Vixely favorite), techno remixes, new-wave mash-ups, ’70s funk, dance pop, oldies and even a little rock ‘n roll. Just the right balance of cool and edge, as per usual.

Our Vix Pick: “November Skies ft. Nina Kinert” by Tomas Barfod. This song has Late Nite written all over it.

Here are some of MDD’s notes on this month’s musical picks:

On “Shades of Funk” by Kill Paris:

LA-based Kill Paris, aka Corey Baker, has been a production machine as of late. You should all check out hisSoundCloud for the latest and greatest. Very satisfying.

On “Look At Where We Are” by Hot Chip:

New Hot Chip album! These guys have been around the block a few times and they are still pumping out fresh music. Their newest effort is definitely more mature and sophisticated but manages to maintain that whimsical feel that made the group such a hit to begin with. Buy immediately.

On “Walk On By” by Noosa:

So dreamy. So good. This song has me on the verge of tears everytime I hear it. Help out a native New Yorker and grab her debut EP - you can stream it here first.
